Ravengard Class Guide: Intro Quest, Rewards, and Gear
Choosing a Ravengard class begins an Intro Quest to meet NPCs. Level up to claim weapons, armor, accessories, Cursed Fragments, and crafting components.
Choose your Ravengard class before entering the dungeons. The original arrival sequence introduces Ship Captain Diago for class selection. Playtest 3 adds an automatic Intro Quest after you choose your Ravengard class, guiding you through NPC interactions toward the tutorial. The sections below separate earlier role descriptions from the latest patch values.
Class Roles Described in Earlier Playtests
The original playtest described four starting classes; Playtest 2 introduced the Sorcerer. The weapon and role descriptions below summarize those earlier announcements, not a new hands-on equipment test. Playtest 3 balance values are listed separately.
| Class | Usable Weapon Types | Primary Combat Role |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Great Axes, Great Swords, Halberds, War Hammers | Heavy damage dealer in close combat wielding two-handed weapons |
| Knight | Swords, Maces, Shields (Greatswords removed, Halberds cannot pair with shields) | Frontline defender focused on damage mitigation and enemy control |
| Hunter | Bows, Knives | Ranged combatant picking off targets with precision |
| Assassin | Daggers | Agile combatant relying on stealth, speed, and burst damage |
| Sorcerer | Staves, Magical Orbs | Ranged spellcaster dealing projectile and area damage |
Playtest 3 Class Balance and Stat Adjustments
Playtest 3 lists changes for Warrior, Knight, Hunter, Assassin and Sorcerer. The Ravengard class table below records the announced adjustments; a change not listed in the notes is not treated as proof that a stat was tested or unchanged.
| Ravengard Class | Base Health Change | Stamina or Resource Update | Specific Skill and Weapon Adjustments |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | 220 to 200 HP | No change listed in Playtest 3 | Bolster cooldown lowered to 50s; Overpower replaced by Overcharged; Armor Break ignores 40% enemy armor for 7 seconds; Cool Off heals 45 HP |
| Knight | No HP change listed in Playtest 3 | Blocking stamina drain reduced; raising shields costs no stamina | Shield Bash cooldown reduced to 20s; Recovery heals 45 HP; Wound deals 15 damage over time; directional blocking and parrying added; Rally grants 20% damage boost |
| Hunter | 180 to 210 HP | Max stamina increased from 100 to 110 | Arrow Rain damage increased to 80; Bear Trap damage increased to 50; bows feature quiver sizes (Common 6, Uncommon 7, Rare 8) |

Official developer notes on the Hypixel Ravengard Playtest 3 thread document that Hunters and Sorcerers can also use the training dummies located in Ravenport.
Levelling Progression and Level-Up Rewards
The original playtest describes each Ravengard class with two default abilities on the drop key (Q) and offhand swap key (F). The original playtest described experience from defeating enemies, eliminating players and escaping dungeons. Its level cap was 20; the Playtest 3 announcement does not restate that cap.
| Level Milestones | Unlocks and System Mechanics | Claim Location and NPC |
|---|---|---|
| Each Class Level Up | Grants an Ability Point to unlock or customize active skills (maximum 2 active at once) | Ravengard Menu |
| Eleanor Turn-ins | Grants weapons, armor, accessories, Cursed Fragments, and crafting components | Eleanor at the Raven's Nest Tavern |
| Equipment Blueprints | Unlocked by opening chests, looting fallen players, or claiming level-up rewards | Crafting menu accessed by pressing L or using the Ravenscroll |
Players can spend Cursed Fragments with Darius to add or replace modifiers on weapons and armor, boosting item Damage or Defense by up to 20%.
Starting the Intro Quest
The arrival and training NPC names below come from the earlier playtest explanations; Playtest 3 confirms an automatic quest after class choice, using markers through NPC interactions to the tutorial.
When you create a profile and pick a Ravengard class, an Intro Quest begins automatically.
- Speak with Ship Captain Diago upon your initial arrival to select your class and receive starting equipment, including basic armor, a weapon, and a bandage.
- Follow the on-screen Quest Markers through Ravenport to interact with designated NPCs.
- Complete the path toward Hector in the training area to enter the optional Tutorial Dungeon, which teaches doors, chests, combat, and escape portals.
- If you prefer to bypass the sequence, cancel the quest at any time directly through the Ravengard menu.
FAQ
How do I switch abilities on my Ravengard class?
Open the Ravengard menu with L by default or the Ravenscroll in your hotbar, as described in Playtest 3. Spend Ability Points earned from levelling up to unlock skills, then equip up to two active abilities assigned to your Q and F keys.
Can a Knight equip a shield while holding a Halberd?
No. Halberds are classified as two-handed weapons. If you switch to a Halberd, your shield automatically unequips and returns to your inventory.
Where do I claim rewards after levelling up a Ravengard class?
Visit Eleanor inside the Raven's Nest Tavern in Ravenport to collect weapons, armor, accessories, Cursed Fragments, and crafting materials earned from class level gains.
