Ravengard Guide: Outer Ruins, Crafting, and Classes
Learn crafting, class updates, and Outer Ruins details in this Ravengard guide. Spend Cursed Fragments with Darius to add modifiers up to twenty percent.
This Ravengard guide starts with the extraction loop, then separates earlier match rules from the new Playtest 3 systems. Hypixel's third playtest runs October 30 through November 2 and recommends Minecraft Java 26.3. The current announcement adds the Outer Ruins, crafting, salvaging, equipment modifiers and an Intro Quest. Use this Ravengard guide for those documented basics, rather than as a tested boss route or a complete item database.
Match Mechanics and Navigation
The original playtest describes Ravengard as a PvPvE loot extractor: fight monsters, open chests and encounter other players who may fight for your equipment. That announcement describes teams of up to 3, up to 21 players in a dungeon and dives lasting up to 16 minutes and 30 seconds. These are the earlier published match rules; the Playtest 3 notes do not restate every timer or limit.
Escape through a blue portal with your loot. The original explanation warns that dying without escaping loses your gathered loot and equipment. This Ravengard guide keeps that extraction objective separate from the latest crafting additions.
| Original Map Indicator | Meaning in the Original Playtest |
|---|---|
| Red marker | Your position |
| Green and blue markers | Living teammates |
| White box | Next safe zone boundary |
| Dark red box | Death wall boundary |
| Blue rectangle | Revival fountain |
| Blue circles | Escape portals |
| Gold rectangles | Doors |
Playtest 3 adds fallen teammates to the minimap. For the current test, its announcement also lists a Respawn Sigil in the Alchemist Shop for 40 Crowns. This Ravengard guide does not assume that every older revival detail was retested in this build.
Crafting, Salvaging and Equipment Modifiers
Playtest 3 lets you collect blueprints and craft equipment. Blueprints come from opening loot chests and bags, searching fallen players, and claiming level-up rewards. Opening a chest or bag grants blueprints for the equipment inside.
Open the Crafting menu through the Ravengard menu: L is the default key, or use the Ravenscroll in your hotbar. Hover an item to view the required components. Craftable items are highlighted. Gather those components and pay the additional Crowns fee to create the item.
| System | Where to Use It | Published Playtest 3 Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Crafting | Crafting menu | Spend required components and a Crowns fee |
| Salvaging | Salvage menu | Dismantle equipment into crafting components |
| Component storage | Separate storage area | Components stack up to 16; expand storage with Crowns |
| Modifiers | Darius | Spend Cursed Fragments to add or replace Damage or Defense Modifiers |
All equipment can be salvaged, and the Salvage menu accepts multiple items. The resulting components are stored automatically. For modifiers, earn Cursed Fragments through level-up rewards and successful escapes. Darius can attach or replace modifiers increasing equipment Damage or Defense by up to 20%. The distinction matters in this Ravengard guide: blueprints are for crafting equipment, while Cursed Fragments pay for modifier attachments.
Class Changes and the Outer Ruins
Five class sections appear in the current patch notes. This Ravengard guide lists the health changes actually stated there, without assigning an unsupported best class.
| Class | HP Change Listed for Playtest 3 | Another Listed Change |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | 220 to 200 | Overpower is replaced by Overcharged |
| Knight | No HP change listed | Raising a shield no longer consumes stamina |
| Hunter | 180 to 210 | Maximum stamina increases from 100 to 110 |
| Assassin | 160 to 190 | Base stamina increases from 100 to 130 |
| Sorcerer | 170 to 220 | Staff and orb damage receive buffs |
Hunter bows now have quivers: Common holds 6, Uncommon 7 and Rare 8. Knight shields use directional blocking, including parrying. Hunters and Sorcerers can use the training dummies in Ravenport.
The Outer Ruins introduces Goblins, skeletons and demons, bats, killer plants, demon goblins, fire spirits and bandits. Skeletree and the Goblin Chief are the new bosses. Moss, Goblin and Forest equipment sets include weapons and armor for every class. Hypixel flags erratic Skeletree pathfinding as a known issue; this Ravengard guide does not supply an unverified strategy or drop table.
Starting the Intro Quest and Claiming Rewards
After class selection, the new Intro Quest starts automatically. Follow its Quest Markers through NPC interactions toward the tutorial. You can cancel the quest at any time through the Ravengard menu.
For level-up rewards, visit Eleanor in the Raven's Nest Tavern. The announced rewards include weapons, armor, accessories, Cursed Fragments and crafting materials. Stronghold Keys now have 3 uses, consuming a charge when you click a stronghold door.
The official Hypixel Ravengard Playtest 3 announcement documents these changes and links to the original playtest explanation for new players.
